Kadiri Abioye has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Ibadan in 2002. He was an Assistant Farm Engineer in the Farm Management Centre of the Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike, (Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike).
In the year 2005 he joined the then Chartered Bank (now Stanbic IBTC Bank) and grew through the ranks working in customer services, teller, treasury desk, cash officer, ATM support to the sales and business development unit of the bank.
In 2008 he was part of a special project team, a change control agent, that implemented a new branch operating model of the Standard Bank Group through formation of Group Reference Guide and Roles and Responsibility discussions and clarification for the entire bank branches across Nigeria. His people management skill was instrumental to the successes achieved in the implementation.
In 2009, Kadiri was deployed to the Channels and Distribution department in the Head Office as the Distribution Planning Manager with major responsibility of determining locations for ATM roll-out, new branches establishment, branch relocation and closure. He was responsible for the assessment of locations which led to the establishment of 100 mini branches within a 6-month period and an increased footprint for the bank and growth in the bottom-line.
In early 2014, he was appointed Head of the Lagos Zone of Non-Interest Banking Window of Stanbic IBTC Bank, responsible for the sales, strategic planning, product design and development of the business. He raised the awareness of the Non-Interest Banking value proposition via collaboration with Islamic organizations. And when Stanbic IBTC Bank discontinued the Non-Interest Banking operation in 2018, he managed the closure of the operation until the last quarter of 2018, ending his 14 years stay in Stanbic IBTC Bank in March 2019 to pursue other interest.
Kadiri joined the SunTrust Bank team in September 2019 with the core responsibility of building the Non-Interest Banking window operations, a task he was passionate about and in July 2021, he was appointed the Chief Operating Officer of the window in an acting capacity.
He obtained a professional Masters in Transport Management and Planning from University of Lagos in 2017, a Certified Islamic Finance Executive (CIFE) certificate from Ethica Institute of Islamic Finance in 2020 and has attended various trainings and conferences on Islamic Banking and Finance across the globe from 2013 to date.
He is one of the few Islamic banking business Leaders in Nigeria with huge impact in training new entrant to the industry, some of whom are currently doing well in other Non-Interest Banks. He is an Alumnus of Lagos Business School Competitive Strategy Program.
Kadiri is a self-motivated individual with a gentle and positive approach to life, high in integrity, detailed and calculative. He has interest in varying endeavors including Islamic Finance and Insurance, FinTech, Information Technology, Project Management, Real Estate, Agribusiness, Transport systems, Start-ups, and Innovations. .
