SunTrust Bank Nigeria Limited held its 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Park Inn by Radisson, Victoria Island, Lagos. Shareholders, regulators, Board members and other stakeholders gathered to review the Bank’s performance and discuss its next phase of growth.
The AGM also marked 10 years of SunTrust Bank’s operations, with the Bank reaffirming its commitment to delivering sustainable value to customers, shareholders, employees and the Nigerian economy.
Board Chairman Olanrewaju Shittu highlighted the Bank’s progress over the past decade, particularly its successful recapitalisation within the timeframe provided by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). He described the recapitalisation as an important milestone that strengthens the Bank and creates opportunities to expand, deepen customer relationships, invest in technology and generate sustainable shareholder value.
He also acknowledged the contributions of shareholders, regulators, customers, the Board, management and employees to achieving the milestone.
During the AGM, shareholders approved the Bank’s statutory resolutions for the 2025 financial year and expressed confidence in management’s priorities, including:
Speaking about the Bank’s future, Kudi Badmus, Acting Managing Director, said SunTrust is entering a new phase of its development. She said the Bank has strengthened its foundations and strategic focus and is investing in the people, processes and technology needed to compete effectively in the future.
She also expressed optimism about the opportunities ahead and reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to creating long-term stakeholder value, while thanking customers and shareholders for their continued support.
