Arho Akpe is the Managing Director of Axis Business Solutions Limited, an information technology services company delivering software infrastructure and information security solutions to the banking, oil and gas and telecoms industries. He is also active in the finance and technology space, acting in various capacities to organizations in the payments industry.
Arho, has vast experience in Operations and Information Technology Management in the banking industry, having started his career in Guaranty Trust Bank Plc in 1998 where he worked in the Information Technology Department managing banking software.
In 2002, he joined Bond Bank Limited in a management role as the Head of Information Technology, and in 2005 he attained the position of Head, Operations and Information Technology for the bank.
In 2006, Arho became Head, Information Technology Business Support for Skye Bank Plc, taking on responsibilities across various strategic functions within the bank including leadership roles in the post-merger integration of operations of the five constituent banks and joint project owner of the bank’s risk management transformation project. He was an attending member of several management committees including management audit, retail strategy, operations management and IT steering committees. He also had operational responsibilities in trade services.
Arho joined SunTrust Savings and Loans limited in 2010 as Head, Operations and Information Technology, and in 2015 he became a member of the board as an Executive Director.
He is a graduate of Computer Science from the University of Benin, holds a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration from the University of London and Imperial College, London (Tanaka Business School) and he is an honorary member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
